THE WORKSHOP

JEWELS CREATIONS AND RESTYLING

The ideas take shape in the workshop. Everything starts with a quick brainstorming of ideas from the team, made up of Cinzia, Luca (designer and craftsman) and Viola (stone setter). Together they decide which collection to work on and with which approach.

The real mission starts from there and each person has a very precise role:

  • The designer who studies the pieces taking into consideration their history and their identity along with the target to be achieved.

  • The wax mold maker who creates the prototypes of the pieces. This phase is crucial because it enables any modifications the jewel might require to be identified before they are transformed into precious metal. For this process we use the ancient craft of “Lost Wax”

  • The workbench where the craftsman really brings his tactile skills to the fore using refining tools such as the file, the coping saw , abrasive finishing paper, the soldering iron and the laser to perfect the minute details of the piece and finally to polish it.

  • The Stone Setter who gives the piece its final polish leaving it with a shiny, sand brushed, matt or burnished finish and finally adds the precious stones at its centre by hand using an engraving tool (burin)

During the last 30 years each member of the team has specialised in a different sector and together they have created a team which is dynamic and richly creative.
